Historic Washington State Park Offering Basket Making Workshop March 25
With Easter only a few weeks away now is the time to start shopping for that perfect Easter basket. What if you could make your own basket? Historic Washington State Park Arkansas is offering a workshop on the art of basket making and weaving.
The art of basket making as been around for centuries. You can join park personnel this Saturday, March 25 from 9AM - 2PM in the 1874 Courthouse as they will teach you fun and creative ways in which to make a basket. Learn basic techniques in creating simple basket weaving. Everyone who participates in this workshop will have their choice of using cane, reed, or pine needles. Don't worry about bringing supplies because they will be furnished including a variety of accent colors for decorative purposes. And I'm thinking, they may even have a few ideas on how to make an Easter basket.
Cost for the workshop classes is $25 and reservations are required as space is limited. For more information please call the visitor center at 870-983-2684 or visit their website. Old Washington State Park is less than an hour drive from Texarkana.
