Amy Grant Only Requires One Thing Backstage + You’ll Never Guess What [Exclusive]
Amy Grant has been touring and playing live music for well over 40 years now, and she just released a new album called The Me That Remains last Friday (May 8.)
After being basically a traveling road show for most of her life, you would think that Grant has a list of specific things she needs backstage when she gets to a venue.
But it turns out that Grant's list of must-have items is surprisingly basic. In fact, there's only one thing she's just gotta have.
The One Thing That Amy Grant Requires Backstage
Grant was a guest of mine on Taste of Country Nights where I asked her what is on her tour rider: Aka the list of things required to be at a venue when she shows up to play a show.
"Nothing," Grant replies, before rethinking that and saying, "A workable toilet. Because on the bus — you know, they can put a man on the moon but you can't go number two on the bus."

You can save all the green M&Ms and special herbal tea elixirs, because the six-time Grammy winner needs none of that to hit her peak on stage.
Amy Grant Just Released Her First Album in 13 Years
Grant was elated to get back into the studio to record The Me That Remains.
"That first day of bringing these songs to life, I thought 'Oh my gosh!' I haven't worked like that in 13 years," she told me. "I just went, 'what have I been doing?'"
Grant wrapped a bow around the whole project by saying, "Bringing songs to life, if that's not fun there's something wrong with the world."
