Arkansas U.S. Congressman Mike Ross says he will not be running for re-election next year. The 4th district south Arkansas representative says he wants to spend more time with his family and explore new opportunities here at home in Arkansas.  Ross who is the only Democrat among the 4 U.S. House members in Arkansas has previoulsy expressed interest in running for  Governor in 2014 but says a decision on that will not be made until his house term ends.

The Texarkana Texas City Council meets tonight at city hall. Items on the agenda include water issues and the city managers contract. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights meeting.

In Sports;

The NFL Players have reached a deal with the owners to end the lockout and sign a new collective bargaining agreement. This paves the way for NFL Training Camps to open this week and pre-season games to be played in August.
