J.W.’s News Update: Thursday June 30,2011

Good Thursday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The Arkansas Highway Department along with the city of Texarkana, Arkansas and the Texarkana  Chamber of Commerce held a public discussion informational session on Interstate 49 work today.

A birds eye view of work on I-49  work in Northwest Louisiana taken from helicopter by Don Ruggles was shown. Meanwhile Scott Bennett with the Arkansas Highway Department says I-49 from Doddridge to the Louisiana line should be complete by 2015 with Louisiana matching up with the highway from the south.

Also the extension of Loop 245 North of Texarkana to connect with Highway 71 should be complete by mid 2013 or sooner.
