Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival Is This Weekend, June 15th & 16th at Beaver’s Bend State Park
The 46th Annual Kiamichi Owa-Chito Festival is this weekend, June 15th and 16th in Beavers Bend State Park. Festival organizers are very excited about this year's headliner The Swon Brothers.
Thursday, June 14th at 11:30 AM the Forestry Luncheon will be held at the Museum of the Red River. Then Friday night will kick off the festival with the Miss Choctaw Owa-Chito pageant at the Beavers Bend amphitheater at 4:30. After the pageant, the following regional acts will be performing:
- Faith Tabernacle P.C.G. Youth
- Karen & Loren
- Philicia Austin
- Victory Life Youth of Broken Bow
- Veronica Tuttle
- Kerry Partridge
- Valliant 1st Assembly of God Praise and Worship Team.
Later that evening, 7eventh Time Down will be performing at the amphitheater stage.
Saturday, June 16th will be the main day of the festival kicking it off with the 5KRun at the Beavers Bend Swim Beach area.
Vendors will be set up on Saturday only from 8-4:30.
Several of the events to take place on Saturday are:
- Miss Owa-Chito Pageant
- Talent Show
- Student Art Show
- Stickball
- Bingo
- Canoe Races
- Casting Contest
- Archery Shoot
- Horseshoes and Kids Games
Also near the Beavers Bend Nature Center we will have the 3rd Annual Bike Show and will be taking motorcycle entries. Also in this area of the festival music will be provided by Wampuskat . The prize money for the Forestry competitions has been increased this year so this is the year to compete in the logging events. New this year, we have added a Kid's Forestry Competition.

- Jack ‘N Jill Crosscut
- Limited Power Saw Bucking
- Log Loading Binding
- Match Splitting

- Women’s Bow Sawing
- Bull of the Woods
- Crew of the Woods
Saturday night at the Beavers Bend Amphitheater stage the talent show winners will perform, then Mike Ryan will be opening for The Swon Brothers.
Kiamichi Owa-Chito is still accepting vendors, sponsors, and entries for the 46th annual festival.
