Kicker 102.5 FM is proud to welcome the Jason Helms Band to Shooters, Oct. 18 for an 'After Showdown Party' you don't want to miss.

Fresh off their win at the Texaco Country Showdown at the Four States Fair, the band beat out several other talented artists from right here in the area to advance to the state competition at the Arkansas State Fair in Little Rock, Ark. on Oct. 21. Winner there receives $1,000 and advances to the regionals with a shot at the national competition in Nashville that pays $100,000 and the title.

So we want to send them off with the 'After Showdown Party' and wish them good luck in Little Rock. The opening act that night will be local band Driven who was the runner-up and is the backup in case the Jason Helms Band is unable to play. Tickets for this Kicker show is only $5 and available at Shooters at the door the night of the show or you can go to the VIP club and enter to win.

When I talked with Jason a few weeks ago they are working on a new album with all new material. Their debut album "Redemption," available on iTunes, is one of my favorites. Their first single was "Where You Wanna Go" and it's kind of reminiscent of a Restless Heart song. Their newest is "Hometown Hero" and the video features various artists that Jason has met or performed with. My personal favorite song off the album is "My Kind of Woman." This song really shows off Jason's soulful heartfelt voice as a singer.

Get your tickets at Shooters for this great show Thursday night Oct. 18. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

Check out Jason Helms Band facebook page and get a behind the scenes look at the new album.

I've included a YouTube Video of the song "My Kind of Woman" Enjoy!
