The Texarkana Arts & Historic District is inviting local and regional artists to help shape downtown’s next big creative project,  a new mural at Kress Gap, inspired by the theme “Regional Legends and Folklore.”

More than 350 residents voted to select the winning theme, reflecting strong community support for celebrating stories and myths that make the region unique. Work has already begun to prepare the Kress Gap wall in downtown Texarkana, where crews recently removed aging artwork and reinforced the structure to make way for a new chapter of public art.
