Masters of Motown to Perform at Hempstead Hall Oct. 27
Get ready for it – Saturday, October 27, 7:30p.m. at Hempstead Hall on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Hope, the joyous, mad, romantic, movin’, groovin’ pop and soul classics that changed American music. Masters of Soul recreates the iconic chart-topping artists, legendary songs, and unforgettable style that are the magic of Motown.
The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council and Hempstead Hall have partnered to bring this fully choreographed and stylishly costumed tribute to the singers, artists, and musicians of a glorious era. Based in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the ten person cast consists of three lead male vocalists and three lead female vocalists backed by a four-piece band of seasoned musicians who have been touring together for decades. Masters of Soul has performed to numerous sold-out audiences and garnered rave reviews across the country. The dynamic vocalists transform into many of the greatest musical acts ever created.
Hempstead Hall Director, Dolly Henley said, “We are so fortunate to have locked in the Masters of Soul for this year’s Performing Arts Series. Just a few years ago, Hempstead Hall hosted The Temptations and The Spinners and both concerts rocked the venue and it was well attended. The Motown genre is popular in our region and I believe we will have a strong attendance for the show on October 27.
Don’t miss this opportunity to celebrate the atmosphere and timeless appeal of a milestone in American music – the ultimate stroll down memory lane with like sounds of Gladys Knight & The Pips, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Barry White, James Brown and more.
