Texas High Teacher Named Texas Teacher of The Year

T.I.S.D. teacher Monica Washington has been named the Texas Teacher of the Year at an awards ceremony in Austin.

Washington was one of three finalist who had been selected from across the state to compete for this honor. She teaches AP and English III at Texas High. Monica has been in the teaching profession for 15 years and with the district since 2007.

She will travel some as an ambassador for public education. Washington will also represent the state of Texas in the National Teacher of the Year competition. Congratulations to Monica Washington of Texas High.
