
A&M-Texarkana Unveils Details of New RRCU Athletics Complex
Have you heard the news? There is going to be a new Athletics Complex on the A&M Texarkana campus. Officials from both Texas A&M University-Texarkana and Red River Credit Union got together with students, faculty, staff, and others to reveal the details of the new RRCU Athletics Complex.
The complex will be located near Bringle Lake and will have baseball and softball fields, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, pickleball courts, beach volleyball courts, a food court area, a ticket booth, and a sports performance center.
Brad Baily, RRCU President/CEO said in a press release,
Red River is thrilled to partner with Dr. Alexander and Texas A&M Texarkana in its new RRCU Athletic Complex. Giving back to the community and helping our members simultaneously is a win-win for us. RRCU is proud and excited to be a part of the success of TAMUT.
Some big things will be happening over the next couple of years. A&M-Texarkana's athletic department is expected to grow and grow big. They have their sights on a competitive cheer and dance program this fall plus coed varsity esports and beach volleyball.
For the 2025 fall semester, they will be adding men’s and women’s golf, bowling, and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. They will have doubled their sports programs from 11 to 22 sports programs available.
A&M-Texarkana Director of Athletics Michael Galvan said,
This collaboration is a product of having a university with a commitment to serving its region and having university partners who understand that responsibility and are equally committed to the success of the institution and the community at large.
When Will Construction Begin on the New Texas A&M RRCU Athletics Complex?
Construction on this new complex is expected to start this spring.
