Hawk Yeah! Texarkana Cheers On Their Newly Drafted NFL Stars!
There's no denying that Texarkana has its share of Pro athletes over the decades. This area has produced some stellar elite athletes who have gone from playing high school sports to college and being drafted to play professionally in major sports. Two more players have been added to that coveted list of outstanding athletes to continue a long-standing tradition in the Texarkana area.
On Friday, April 25, two former Pleasant Grove High School Hawks were selected in the NFL Draft to continue their football career in the National Football League.
Landon Jackson - Arkansas Defensive Lineman
Former University of Arkansas Razorback Landon Jackson was selected as the 72nd pick by the Buffalo Bills in Round 3 of the NFL Draft.
Nick Martin - Oklahoma State Linebacker
Nick Martin, a former Oklahoma State Cowboy, was selected just 3 picks later at 75 in Round 3 to play football for the San Francisco 49ers.
This was certainly a lifelong dream for two Pleasant Grove Hawks, and Texarkana couldn't be more proud of these athletes who have exemplified their success on and off the field. Congratulations on continued success and future endeavors with your new teams. We will all be watching!
