Brewsters on the Boulevard coffee house opened up in 2019 and from all reports seemed to be doing pretty well on Texas Blvd. A popular hangout for younger folks like my 20-year-old son who went there for one of his favorite drinks almost every day.

Back on December 14, 2021, they announced on their Facebook Page that they were closed for maintenance. From what we hear, it was actually a sewer backup that made a real mess inside the establishment. Those things happen, usually, they are cleaned and repaired and life goes on. well, on December 17, they opened the drive-thru only for a while but had to shut it down again. No official word on exactly why, you know how people talk.

Then January 12, Brewsters posted on FB that they were done, at least for a while. No one knows for sure why, but there is plenty of speculation. Their message on FB included the admission that they were closed due to needed repairs in their kitchen and that those repairs were not finished yet. The FB message continued with:

We also used this time for some reflection on monies, costs, and ministry. In seeking God’s wisdom we came to the painful realization that shutting down for an indefinite period of time was our wisest and best choice. This decision was not made lightly, given the effect on our employees.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
