Portion of U.S. Highway 82 to Be Re-Surfaced

A section of US 82 in Texarkana will receive a new riding surface this year according to plans approved in June by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

“We will be resurfacing a 3.2-mile section of the highway between Interstate 369/US 59 and US 67 (7th Street). This will include sections of New Boston Road and Texas Boulevard,” said Kenny Icenhower, area engineer for TxDOT in Texarkana.
R. K. Hall of Paris, Tex., was awarded the contract for the construction project with a bid of $1.8 million.
Work on the project should begin in September and take about four months to 

complete.
