Texarkana Hosts Youth Bicycle and Car Seat Safety Event
The City of Texarkana, Texas, in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), will host a bicycle and car seat safety event on Saturday, November 9th. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Texarkana, Texas City Hall, located at 220 Texas Blvd.
The event is aimed at promoting youth safety and will teach essential skills for safe bicycle riding, emphasizing the importance of helmet use and street navigation for young riders and pedestrians. The initiative also encourages adults to stay vigilant, reminding drivers to double-check for children at intersections and crosswalks.
Certified car seat safety technicians will be on hand to demonstrate proper car seat installation, an area of critical need as nearly half of all car seats are improperly installed. Families who need assistance will have access to a limited supply of free car seats, offered to those in need of a new or replacement seat.
Parents are asked to stay with their children for the event’s duration.
