
120 Years in Prison: Devontea Clay Convicted in 2023 Double Murder of Arkansas Teens
A Pulaski County jury has convicted 26-year-old Devontea Clay of two counts of Second-Degree Murder in connection with the 2023 killings of two teenagers in North Little Rock. The verdict was reached on Wednesday, December 10.
Double Murder Investigation Began in May 2023 in Arkansas
The case dates back to May 2023, when the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division opened an investigation into the deaths of LaMarion Gilliam, 19, of North Little Rock, and Sucram O’Donald, 16, of Little Rock. Both teens were found in the early morning hours of May 23, 2023, near Arkansas Highway 161, south of Scott in Pulaski County.

State police investigators worked the case for more than a year before Clay was taken into custody.
Arrest and Sentencing Details in Arkansas Double Murder
ASP CID special agents arrested Clay in July 2024 at the Pulaski County Detention Center, where he was already being held on unrelated charges.

Following the jury’s verdict, the court sentenced Clay to 50 years for each murder conviction. An additional 10 years was added to each count due to a firearms enhancement. The judge ordered all sentences to run consecutively, resulting in a total sentence of 120 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
Additional Charges Pending For Devontea Clay in Arkansas
In addition to the Pulaski County convictions, Clay is facing pending criminal charges in five other jurisdictions along the Interstate 40 corridor in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee. Those cases include allegations of First-Degree Battery, multiple counts of Aggravated Robbery, and additional firearm and drug-related offenses.
