Golfers can hit the links while helping support local families when the Rock Solid Resource Center Charity Golf Classic takes place Thursday, October 22, at Oak Grove Golf Club, located next to Red River Army Depot, near New Boston, Texas.

Presented by Johnston Ford, the tournament will be a 4-person scramble with registration beginning at noon. A free lunch will be served from 12:15 to 1:15 PM, followed by a 1:30 PM shotgun start.

The tournament will feature plenty of opportunities for golfers to have some fun, including a $10,000 hole-in-one prize, closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive competitions, a putting contest and a raffle.

A Day of Golf for a Good Cause

Team registration is $400 per 4-person team, and golfers, sponsors, and businesses can also participate through tee box advertising and sponsorship opportunities.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Rock Solid Resource Center, a New Boston-based nonprofit that works to help meet practical needs in the community. The organization operates a thrift store and resource center in Bowie County and works with individuals, churches, businesses and other organizations to provide or connect people with assistance.
