The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council in partnership with Hempstead Hall is proud to present the Arkansas Arts Center Children’s Theatre on Tour production of Snow White at Hempstead Hall on the Campus of the University of Arkansas at Hope on November 27, at 6:30PM. 

Children’s Theatre on Tour is part of the Statewide ArtsReach Programs at the Arkansas Arts Center, the state’s premier center for visual and performing arts. Recognized by The Drama League as one of the best regional theatre companies in America, the Arkansas Arts Center Children's Theatre is the only professional company in Arkansas that produces children's literary works for the stage.

“The Children’s Theatre on Tour brings the magic of the theatre to thousands of families across the state,” Artistic Director Bradley D. Anderson said. “Every year, these performances charm audiences and create extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people and their communities.”

The wicked queen is the most beautiful lady in the land, and she has the word of a magic mirror to prove it. Obsessed with her beauty, the queen’s vanity grows until one day the mirror names someone else the fairest in the land. Snow White! The queen’s own step daughter! The queen vows to destroy the innocent princess but the light of a pure heart is not easily extinguished. By the power of her inner beauty, Snow White escapes the schemes of the wicked queen and begin her path to happy ever after. Snow White is written by Keith Smith and directed by John Isner.

Children’s Theatre on Tour is traveling to venues around the state throughout the 2018-2019 school season. The Southwest Arkansas Arts Council and Hempstead Hall will also host The Tortoise & the Hare (And Other Turtle Tales) will be performed at Hempstead Hall on January 23 and The Emperor’s New Clothes on April 2.  School groups are encouraged to attend.
