Stunning Scenic Views to See As New Route in Arkansas Opens This Fall
Something we all are looking forward to is autumn with its cooler temperatures and the beautiful colors of the changing leaves. There will soon be a new route to take in Arkansas to see new beautiful scenery this fall.
It's the Hot Springs Scenic Bypass and we are all ready to check it out.
When Will The Hot Springs Scenic Bypass Open?
The 5.8-mile bypass is to help alleviate the traffic congestion in Hot Springs and giving many a new shortcut in the area connecting them to Fountain Lake and Hot Springs Village. This new Highway 5 extension is expected, fingers crossed, to open in mid-to-late October. Just in time to catch some beautiful fall foliage that Arkansas is so popularly known for.
According to the Hot Springs Village Voice, right now the plan is for guardrails to be installed and then it's cleanup time.
It's been a long time coming since the project was supposed to open last year but there were some setbacks. The bypass will have no median and right now 8-foot-wide shoulders just in case ARDOT decides to widen it in the future to make it four lanes.
The Hot Springs Bypass crosses over several ridges which means it will be fantastic to see the fall foliage colors and just think these views will have never been seen before.
