Sunsets, S’mores and Sweethearts at Lake Catherine in Arkansas

Do you want to spend a very special pre-Valentine weekend with your sweetie? Well, Lake Catherine State Park in Hot Springs is having an event Sunsets, S'mores, and Sweethearts Weekend Feb. 9-10, 2024.

There will be several events throughout Friday and Saturday that will set the mood for the perfect weekend with your significant other.

Feb. 9 - S'mores and Sunsets 5:15 PM

Spend a cozy evening next to a campfire at the Trailhead for Falls Branch Trail. Enjoy campfire coffee, hot chocolate, and s'mores while sitting on this swing overlooking the lake in one of their amazing cabins.

Feb. 10 - Sunsets, S'mores and Sweethearts - 9 AM

Reserve your spot now for a Dutch Oven Brunch at the amazing Nature Cabin. The Brunch includes some savory dishes and drinks. Spots are limited and reservations are required by noon on Friday, Feb. 9. The cost is $15 per person.

Labor of Love - 11 AM

Couples will enjoy a 30-minute presentation from a Park interpreter on how Lake Catherine State Park was built on a labor of love that still resides today.

Hitting Rock Bottom - 1 PM

Enjoy a one-mile hike to the beautiful Falls Branch Trail as you walk over creek beds and rocky terrain couples will learn that relationships can be rocky at times but sometimes navigating through the rough times gets you to where you want to be. Park Park Interpreter Carrie will give you a history lesson on the geography and geology of the Ouachita Mountains

Love Birds - 3 PM

Park Interpreter Carrie takes you on a one-mile journey along the shoreline to watch for a variety of birds who make Lake Catherine their natural habitat. The walking tour will begin at the Nature Cabin. No need to explain the birds and bees to you because I am sure you probably know all about that story.
