Tax Free Weekend in Texas August 10-12

One of the best things about living in Texarkana is that you get to take advantage of two Tax Free weekends. Earlier this week I told you about Tax Free Weekend in Arkansas (August 4-5) now it's time to tell you about Tax Free Weekend in Texas. Make a note, August 10-12, 2018 Texas residents will get to enjoy the same savings as its next door neighbors across the state line.

That means throughout the state of Texas you will be allowed to buy certain School Supplies, School Art Supplies, or anything school related or clothing free of state and local sales or use tax for back to school shoppers.

However there are a few restrictions. Here's a list of what you can buy tax free.

• School Supplies
• School art supplies
• School Instructional materials
• Clothing and footwear less than $100 per item
• Clothing accessories and equipment less than $50 per item

Keep in mind that computers and software is NOT exempt.

The best way to save money on a tax free weekend is to plan ahead, make a list of items you need, look for the best sales in your area and maximize price matching if a store offers that. Happy Shopping!

Remember, Texas has their Tax Free Weekend August 10-12, 2018. And since we are part of the Ark-La-Tex region. Oklahoma has theirTax Free Weekend August 3-5 and Louisiana enjoys theirs on August 3-4, as well.
