Texarkana College and Texas A&M University-Texarkana will co-host “Funding College 101” on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 6PM.

It will be held inside Eagle Hall on the A&M-Texarkana campus at 7101 University Ave.

The workshop is designed to provide information about how to apply for state and federal financial aid and scholarships and how to complete the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FAFSA, which is required for students seeking to receive financial aid at a college or university, can be filed now.

Speakers for the workshop will include Scott Randall, Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Texarkana College, and Michael Fuller, Director of Financial Aid at A&M-Texarkana.

“Over 80 percent of our students received some form of financial aid this year,” said Toney Favors, Director of Admissions at A&M-Texarkana. “Funding College 101 will provide high school seniors, nontraditional students and their family members with financial aid awareness for higher education opportunities in the greater Texarkana region.”

“Texarkana College is excited to partner with Texas A&M University-Texarkana in this financial aid workshop to better educate the Texarkana community about all the financial resources available for education,” said Lee Williams, Director of Admissions at Texarkana College.

“We encourage everyone in our area planning to attend a college or university in 2017 to attend this workshop. We are here to serve as a resource for the community and look forward to visiting with everyone about opportunities available,” Favors said.
