Freeman - Custis Red River Expedition of 1806 Marker Dedication Ceremony- Friday
History buffs don't miss this! Be a part of history as this historic marker is officially dedicated. The Freeman-Custis Expedition was set up by President Thomas Jefferson to explore the Red River after the Louisiana Purchase and map the area. Friday morning, 10 AM to 11 AM at Sheppard Park, 500 N. Texarkana Farmers Market (Texas side) Saturday from 8 AM to noon, located at the Downtown US Post Office/Courthouse, at 500 N. Stateline Avenue.
Gateway Farmers Market (Arkansas side) opens at 7 AM and goes to noon. Located at 602 East Jefferson in Texarkana, Arkansas.
5K Fun Run/Walk Benefiting Bowie County Sheriff's Office Search & Rescue K9 Team
The event is at 7:30 Saturday morning at Bringle Lake. Late-day entries will take place from 6:30 AM to 7 AM. They ask that, if you are running with a dog, you need to bring a current rabies tag or paper records. It's a $35 late entry. Find more information on their Facebook page.
RRCU Gives: Give Back Game - Saturday
RRCU Gives: Give Back Game on Saturday, at the Texas A&M University - Texarkana basketball gym in the Patterson Center. There will be a basketball game with local favorites, a 3-Point Contest, Kids Knock Out Game, a silent auction, and more. Details at their Facebook Event page
