Texarkana Man Shot Dead Outside Texarkana Car Lot

Texarkana, Texas police are investigating the shooting death of an employee at the Pete Mankins car lot on Summerhill Road.Authorities say 28-year-old Russell Scott Cain of Texarkana, Texas was shot in the parking lot of the business today in the noon hour. Police say the incident stemmed from a family issue.

When the officers arrived at the scene they found Cain unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Cain was taken to Christus St. Michael Health System where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses at the scene were able to provide officers with the name and description of the suspect who was Cain's former mother in law.

"Authorities have detained 52-year-old Ann Fisher in connection with the incident. She has not yet been formally charged in the case," said Sgt. Mike Jones with the Texarkana, Texas Police Department.

Charges have since been filed.
