'Tis the season for severe storms and tornadoes. In today's world, it is easy to keep up with the news and weather on our phones, but in the case of a weather emergency, it is nice to have that information and alerts right at our fingertips.

When there is a local emergency about weather or other emergencies that city officials want us to be aware of we used to get the Red Code alert on our phones.

Texarkana Texas Police announced on their Facebook page, they have upgraded to a new alert system to inform us in case of a local emergency. If you signed up for the 'CodeRed' alerts a few years back, they are replacing it with a new alert system.  They could not transfer our information to the new system so you will need to sign up again.
