
Texas Flags Lowered Statewide in Honor of Flood Victims
If you are a Texans or a business owner in Texas and you proudly fly the Texas flag. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has made a special order for all Texas flags to be lowered to half-staff across the state in memory of those who lost their lifes in the devastating floods last weekend over the 4th of July holiday weekend.
Statement from Governor Abbott
Governor Abbott said in a press release,
In heartfelt remembrance of those whose lives were tragically lost in the recent floods, I ordered Texas flags across the state to be lowered to half-staff. Cecilia and I continue to pray for their loved ones… May God bring comfort to every family affected and strength to the thousands of first responders still working on the ground.
He also, is urging Texans to keep praying for all those that have been affected by this horrific flooding.
He proclaimed that the Texas Flags will remain at half-staff until sunrise on Monday, July 14.
Call for Continued Prayer
He also has declared a statewide Day of Prayer on Sunday for Texans to lift the up the vicitims, the missing and the first responders and recovery crews.
