U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) will visit the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter in Texarkana on Sunday, Oct. 27, to kick off the organization’s holiday donation drive.

According to a press release, the Share the Warmth Holiday Donation Drive aims to collect warm clothes, including coats, blankets, socks, and scarves, to help Texarkana’s homeless population stay warm throughout the holiday season.

Beginning at 10:50 AM, Senator Cornyn will tour the Randy Sams’ Outreach Shelter and the CHRISTUS St. Michael Healthy Living Mobile Clinic parked outside that will be administering flu shots, meet with clients to hear their stories, and help prepare sack lunches for shelter clients.  He will then hold a press conference to kick off the donation drive.

At approximately 11:25 AM,  Senator Cornyn will hold a press conference and kick-off the donation drive.

Their mission for the homeless is to meet the immediate needs of safe temporary lodging and food for the poor and homeless until their able to return to a self-sustained community life.
