Congratulations to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana! They have made the news all across Arkansas for ranking now #2 in the state for the number of students graduating with both a high school diploma and an associate degree. They come in second only to Northwest Arkansas Community College.

This year, high school students all around the Texarkana, Arkansas area have taken advantage of this great program. Arkansas High School celebrated 18 graduates with both degrees.

Hope High School had 14. Blevins High School ranked #11 statewide with 6 graduates, and Genoa Central and Trinity Christian each had one student complete the program.

These UAHT students made up 17.5% of all Arkansas high school graduates who earned their associate degrees this year. Not only is that a great accomplishment for the students, but it also saved those students' families an average of $20,394 per student.

Dr. Mikki Curtis, UAHT Dean of Secondary Programs, said in a press release.

This recognition demonstrates that even in communities with economic challenges, our young people can rise to high expectations, thrive in early college environments, and set the standard for future success.

Dr. Lloyd Jackson, TASD Superintendent, said these students who earned both their high school diploma and associate's degree at the same time is an amazing accomplishment that will benefit them throughout their lives.

UAHT’s Collegiate Academies, offered at  Arkansas High and Hope High Schools, along with partner schools in Blevins, Genoa Central, and Trinity Christian, continue to open doors to higher education.
