National Search Underway for University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana’s Next Chancellor
The national search is officially on to find the next chancellor at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana.
Leading the Charge to Find The New UAHT Chancellor Announced
Leading the search is UAHT's dean of institutional effectiveness and UAHT graduate, Misty Hughes. She was recently named chair of the Chancellor Search Advisory Committee.
Hughes has worked at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana for more than 15 years and she was honored as the 2025 Outstanding Alumna at the college's spring commencement. Her experience at the school includes working in student services, advising, testing and more. She was first a Power Plant Technology advisor and a scholarship manager.

Hughes stated in a press release,
I’m honored to lead such a dedicated group of individuals who care deeply about the future of this college and our community. Helping students and supporting the communities we serve has always been my focus.
The Process of Finding a New Chancellor
The committee has already finalized the job profile and officially launched the nationwide search. We can all keep up with updates and more at the UAHT Chancellor Search Website.
Jay B. Silveria the president of the UA System, said that her insight and experience is invaluable to the search process.
The former Chancellor Christine Holt stepped down from her position on July 1 and Laura Clark is acting as Interim Chancellor until a new one is found. Once the committee narrows down the list of contenders, the UA System will review them before a final decision is made.
Best of luck on the search.
