University Receives $4,500 Gift From Utility Company

AEP-SWEPCO presented a $4,500 donation to the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Foundation on February 1.  The donation is used to provide annual AEP-SWEPCO nontraditional scholarships and to support the annual “Pulling” for Education Trap Shoot, Watermelon Festival Concert, and BBB Kids’ College fundraiser.

Jill Bobo, Executive Director of the UAHT Foundation, said, “AEP-SWEPCO is a long-time supporter of the college and we are grateful for their generosity.  They understand the importance of higher education in our region and the positive affect it has on our economy and on the quality of life of individual students.”

AEP also employees many graduates of the UAHT Power Plant Technology programs.  Power Plant Technology programs at UAHT include:

• Certificate of Proficiency in Power Plant Technology
• Technical Certificate in Power Plant Technology
• Technical Certificate in Power Plant Operations
• Associate of Applied Science in Power Plant Technology
