Whitaker Point (Hawksbill Crag) Elevation 1900 feet
Perhaps one of the most photographed locations in the state is Whitaker Point or Hawksbill Crag as some call it. Located in the Buffalo River National Forest Whitaker Point is likely the "Most Scenic Trail" and view in Arkansas. Not to mention the "Best Place in Arkansas to Get Kissed", according to Buffalo Outdoor Center.
During April and May wildflowers bloom alongside the creek, and on the bluff line hikers will see beautiful mountain azaleas, and white umbrella magnolia blossoms leading up to the crag. Sunsets are mesmerizing at Whitaker Point.
When you reach the point take in the surrounding beauty of the Ozark mountains but be careful not to stand too close to the edge because the drop is 150 feet to the forest bottom below.
