X-Ray Vision Fish Exhibit in Texarkana

We all live in a digital world these days, it's pretty evident everywhere you look. The Exhibition is a traveling exhibit that uses the latest digital x-ray technology. The Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Services, the exhibit is known as X-ray Vision: Fish Inside Out.

It's available for viewing at Texarkana's Discovery Place Children's Museum now through March 8 at 215 Pine Street located downtown.According to a press release, “The exhibition features 40 black and white digital prints of several different specimen of fish. You will be able to view the  evolutionary sequence of each fish while the  x-rays give a tour through the long stream of fish evolution. The x-rays have given scientist and the Smithsonian new ways in which to study the skeleton of the fish without altering the sampling as to give scientist a more defined picture of the different diversities of fish.

Jamie Finley General Manager of the Texarkana Museums System says the “The images are truly beautiful and the photography is amazing."

"If you like looking at fossils you're going to love looking at these X-ray photographs of fish and learning more about them and when the species became instinct."
