Some of the coldest temperatures of the Winter Season expected to hit the area over the next 48 hour period.Temperatures will be dropping behind brisk north winds that are invading the area to start the last week of January 2014. Lows Monday night should be near 20 degrees with wind chills in the single digits.

Cloudy skies but very little chance for precipitation will be expected on Tuesday with high temperatures not expected to get much above freezing. Tuesday night may bring the coldest temperatures of the entire Winter Season with lows expected around 13 or 14 degrees in Texarkana.

The cold weather will continue on Wednesday with highs only around 40 degrees. The weather should finally warm up to near normal on Thursday with highs in the lower 50's expected.

The forecast for this upcoming weekend as we get into February is for milder temperatures but cloudy skies and a slight chance for showers.
