For those who are tired of the Winter 2013-14, the good news is that Spring officially arrives around noon today. It has been a cold winter across most of the country, including right here in the Four States Region. Temperatures have been below normal since December.

We did not have a major winter storm, as far as precipitation is concerned. Texarkana received several small bouts with sleet and freezing rain and around a 1 inch snowfall back in early February.

Temperatures were quite cold with lows around 15 degrees for a couple of days in early January, being the coldest readings of the season.

Even though Spring officially begins today, there will still be some cool days before the warm muggy days arrive. Temperatures are expected to be below normal for Sunday through Wednesday of next week.

So, don't put those jackets and sweaters away just yet.
