Arkansas State Police seize nearly 3,000 pounds of illegal marijuana in one 18-wheeler I-40 traffic stop.

In a report filed on the Arkansas State Police website, ASP seized 2,872 pounds of illegal marijuana during a traffic stop on Interstate 40 in Crawford County on Monday, February 3, 2025, in the afternoon.

According to the report, the traffic stop was made around 12:45 PM on February 3. That's when Arkansas State Troopers pulled over a tractor-trailer at the 2-mile marker eastbound for a traffic violation. A search of the trailer uncovered seven pallets holding 107 boxes of illegal marijuana.

The driver turned out to be 31-year-old Zhiping Mu out of Kent, Washington. Mu was arrested and booked into the Crawford County Detention Center, where he faces felony charges of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, his bond was set at $150,000.

ASP Director Col. Mike Hagar commended the troopers involved, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to stopping drug trafficking on Arkansas highways.

Congratulations, Arkansas State Police, that is one heck of a haul.
