
Arkansas State Police Arrest Two After 100 MPH Pursuit and Crash in Pine Bluff
A coordinated law enforcement effort led to the arrest of a shooting suspect Tuesday afternoon following a high-speed pursuit through Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
According to the Arkansas State Police (ASP), troopers were asked to assist the U.S. Marshals Service around 2:45 PM on April 21 in locating a suspect who had fled on foot near Stagecoach Road and Interstate 530. Multiple agencies, including the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Pine Bluff Police Department, and the Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 Unit, joined the search.
Pursuit Reaches Speeds Over 100 MPH
Authorities later located a vehicle believed to be connected to the suspect near Dollarway Road and School Street. When troopers attempted a traffic stop, the driver allegedly refused to comply, sparking a pursuit through both residential and business areas.
Officials say the vehicle reached speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour along 2nd Avenue before crashing at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Walnut Street.
Crash Leads to Fire, Arrests
The suspect vehicle collided with another car, overturned, and caught fire. Troopers extinguished the flames and, along with assisting officers, removed both occupants from the vehicle.
Both individuals were taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
Suspect Faces Multiple Charges
The passenger was identified as 35-year-old Rickey Lee Ray of Bearden, who is accused in connection with an April 17 shooting in Pine Bluff. After being medically cleared, Ray was transported to the Jefferson County Detention Center and booked on charges including first-degree battery and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Hunter White, is accused of felony fleeing in a motor vehicle, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, multiple traffic violations, and outstanding felony warrants.
Investigation Ongoing
Authorities reported that the occupants of the other vehicle involved in the crash were not injured. The investigation remains ongoing.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
