If you are looking for a fun vacation filled with art galleries, murals, great restaurants, museums, clothing boutiques, antique stores and more then look no further than these small Arkansas towns. 

Thanks to worldatlas.com, they took a look at all the small towns in Arkansas and came up with this list of seven great small towns with the best downtown areas in Arkansas.  These towns range in population from just over 2,000 to just under 19,000.

These towns offer great things to do when it comes to shopping for antiques, checking out local art galleries, historic walking tours, hiking trails and great food.

Eureka Springs

This town is big on things to do, but did you realize how small this town is? The population is only 2,200 but the downtown is great with all the shops and the Eureka Springs Historical Museum. Grab something to eat at the Grand Tavern or the Main Street Café. Eureka Springs is also home to one of the most haunted hotels in the country, the Crescent Hotel.

Ozark

The population in this town is only 3,542 but there is plenty to see from the Ozark Area Depot Museum, the Historic Methodist Church to the Old Franklin County Jail. On a hot summer day there is plenty of water sports to do close to town like kayaking, fishing and paddleboarding.  As far as restaurants, check out Roma Italian Restaurant, Zack’s Place Pizza, and the Thai Steak House. These all made the list.

 

Magnolia

Magnolia's population is 10,780 but their downtown is filled with stores and beautiful murals that show the history of the town. Where to eat? According to worldatlas.com, it's Lefty’s On The Square.  And be sure to see the beautiful campus of Southern Arkansas University.

 

Batesville

Batesville's population is 11,173 and it's the oldest town in Arkansas. Being the state's oldest town a lot of the downtown area is on the National Register of Historic Districts. You'll find loads of Arkansas history plus you can check out the Batesville Area Arts Council gallery and the restored Melba Theater.

Blytheville

Blytheville's population is 12,706. The downtown area has 150 shops, restaurants and other businesses to explore. You'll find historic items and artifacts at the Delta Gateway Museum and see the historic Mississippi County Courthouse. Looking for great food then you'll want to check out McAdoo Steak & Lounge and Yanks Famous Barbeque among others.

El Dorado

El Dorado's population is 17,606. You'll love the downtown square. Have lunch at the  Barefoot Bistro or Main Street Pizza then check out the shops, art galleries and the Murphy Art District. There seems to always be something fun going on in this town. One of the best times to check out this town is in the fall with the El Dorado Music Festival.

Siloam Springs

Siloam Springs is the town with the largest population on the list at 18,654. The downtown area has the Siloam Springs Museum where you can learn about the town's past and see the historic Crown Hotel. This downtown area is listed as one of the best downtown areas in the country. Just outside of town, you can cool off at the Siloam Springs Kayak Park with kayaking, floating and more.
