A&M-Texarkana Offering Medical Courses this Semester
Texas A&M University-Texarkana is offering two courses this spring through the Office of Extended Education and Community Development beginning Feb. 5 and 6.
Electronic Health Records Management - This course runs from Feb. 6-May 10 and is designed to prepare students to understand and use electronic records in a medical practice. The course reviews the implementation and management of electronic health information using common electronic data interchange systems and maintaining the medical, legal, accreditation and regulatory requirements of the electronic health record. The cost is $1,999 and includes textbooks, and is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-9:30pm on the Texas A&M-Texarkana campus located at 7101 University Avenue. Check out more here.
Medical Billing and Coding - This course runs from Feb. 5-April 25 and delivers the skills students need to solve insurance billing and coding problems. It details proper assignment of codes and the process to file claims for reimbursement. With the transition to ICD-10, effective as of October 1, 2015, this course will also provide training in ICD-10- CM. The cost is $1,899 and includes textbooks, and is offered Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-9:30pm on the Texas A&M-Texarkana campus located at 7101 University Avenue. Check out more here.
