Ark-La-Tex Students Compete for Scholarships Through Doodle 4 Google
These kids have put forth their best creative effort and it's up to us to vote them into the finals.
If you consistently use Google for your search engine, you've probably seen your fair share of doodles. Google is known for celebrating holidays, people and causes, but also showing off the creativity of various artists. They do this by incorporating their logo into those images.
Now, it's the kids' turn!
Google is hosting a competition, Doodle 4 Google, with a ton of scholarship money and swag on the line. State and territory finalists have been selected and are now up for public vote. The public may vote for their favorite pieces of art in each age category until May 18.
The Ark-La-Tex is represented in a few age groups...
Arkansas: Grades K-3 with Roboticals
Louisiana: Grades 4-5 with It's a Whale's Life
Texas: Grades 4-5 with Intergalactic Space Exploration Roller Coaster
By public vote, these doodles will be narrowed down to four. Those four artists will each receive a $5,000 scholarship, a trip to Google Headquarters, Google hardware, and Google swag. Those four finalists will be judged by a panel and the winning doodle will receive a $30,000 scholarship and a $50,000 technology package for their school/organization.
