Best Roadside Natural Swimming Hole and Waterfall in Arkansas
May is one of my favorite months of the year because you know summer is right around the corner, Memorial Day weekend unofficially kicks off the summer season.
Falling Water Falls
Arkansas has plenty of beautiful places to escape the heat and swim in a natural swimming hole in a remote part of the state this summer. This just might be Arkansas' Best Kept Secret," but not anymore.
Perhaps one of the most underrated swimming holes sits at the edge of a waterfall, Falling Water Falls east of Ben Hur is almost like a tropical paradise. This amazing natural swimming hole sits right in the heart of the Ozark National Forest, the falls flow right into a large swimming pool that has become one of the more popular spots for summer guests to enjoy. The water gives off a blue-green-teal color that will mesmerize you the moment you dip your toes in it.
According to Fun in Arkansas, Falling Water Falls is a 10-foot waterfall located on Falling Water Creek (FR 1205) on Falling Water Road that is easily accessible right off the road, you can even see it from the highway, best of all, no hiking to get there.
Arkansas Waterfall Country
The Richland Wilderness Area has numerous waterfalls to explore including nearby Six Fingers Falls, Richland Falls, Twin Falls, and Glory Hole. Falling Water Falls is gorgeous and one of the most peaceful serene oases in the natural state. If you enjoy camping the Richland Creek Campground is about 6-8 miles down the road.
