It's been a long process but it looks like we have a new Chancellor at the University of Arkansas at Hope - Texarkana. The University of Arkansas System President Dr. Donald R. Bobbitt announced yesterday that he is recommending Christine Holt, D.B.A., J.D., as the next chancellor at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT).

Holt, is the chief of staff for the University of Missouri System and from a press release, it looks like she will begin September 1.

Dr. Bobbitt stated

“I always speak of the significance of not only finding quality candidates but also finding the right person at the right time to lead our campuses. Dr. Holt is indeed the right person at the right time, and I’m excited about the future for UAHT and the community and region that it serves.”

Bobbitt’s recommendation is subject to final approval at by the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas at its next meeting on May 26-27.

 

Holt said in the press release,

“I quickly learned during this process that many of the things I am passionate about — connecting with students, providing opportunities, and ensuring that hard work is rewarded in the workforce — are all aligned with the existing mission of this college,”

The search committee was formed and began looking for a new chancellor back in October 2020.
