Texarkana Photo Tour: Bobby Ferguson Park in the Ice and Snow
Bobby Ferguson Park in Texarkana, Arkansas, is probably one of my favorite places to walk. The park is located just south of I-30 at the Four States Fair Parkway exit at 3400 U of A Way.

No matter the season, this five-acre park named after a former mayor has everything you need for a fun day out with family and friends. The walking trails stretch 1.25 miles around the lake, allowing you to take in nature and the great outdoors.
I braved the icy cold weather this past Saturday and decided to stroll around the walking trail. It was a peaceful, serene walk with not many on the trail, and the feel was completely different walking in the ice and snow.
Lake Dieffenbacher is nestled among tall trees where folks come to fish during the warmer weather, from the banks or off the wooden fishing pier. Arkansas Free Fishing Day is always a popular event each year at the park.

Parents normally can be seen in the distance with their kids on the playground or having lunch at one of several picnic tables around the lake. There are several park benches where you can sit and watch the ducks and geese swimming across the shimmering water.
Larger groups can enjoy the Lakeside Pavilion or Gazebo for family events, special occasions, or even a wedding, available for rent.
History of the Gazebo at Bobby Ferguson Park
The topper of the Gazebo used to belong to the old Cotton Belt Hospital in College Hill. The hospital was located on Dudley Avenue at the highest point on College Hill. When driving over the Arkansas viaduct, you could see the topper off in the distance. When the hospital was finally torn down, the topper was removed, restored, and moved to Bobby Ferguson Park, where it remains atop the gazebo.

I decided to grab a few photos before the snow and ice disappeared, and hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
