Slow smoked BBQ Brisket and I have had this really long love affair for many years, well, all my life I guess you could say, so for this news to come around is sweet BBQ sauce to my ears. Yes, friends, brisket is actually good for you.

It's the truth. In an article published in Agri-Life Today and written by Blair Fannin on August 19, 2016, (why are we just now hearing about this?) Texas A&M AgriLife Research Scientist Dr. Steven Smith says that;

Ground beef produced from the brisket contains high levels of oleic acid, which increases levels of HDL or good cholesterol in humans..

If you would like to read the whole article that's fine, click on the link above and learn yourself something. As for me, there's not much more to say, brisket good, ground beef made from brisket good. It's all the sides we stuff in our gullet that's bad, loads of bread, beans, buttered corn, jalapeno cornbread, french fries... oh my.

I think I'm feeling a little weak in the knees right now, is it time for lunch?
