Arkansas Motel is Up for USA Today’s 10 Best Roadside Motels
If you have ever visited Hot Springs, Arkansas, you have probably seen or even stayed at the historic Cottage Court located a half a mile from downtown Central Avenue and Bathhouse Row.
Historical Fact About Cottage Court
The Cottage Court was originally built in the early 1950s, and it was one of the first motel-type tourist accommodations to be built in Hot Springs.
Dame Fortune's Cottage Court
The property has now been renamed Dame Fortune's Cottage Court after new owner and native Texan Andie Roberts began renovation in 2016-2017, after it remained abandoned for years. Roberts said she always wanted to buy an old motel in a place she used to visit with her family as a child. It's kinda like a full circle moment, because she has turned the property into a vintage-inspired, redesigned, reimagined, mid-century "roadside" boutique-style motor court. See rooms here.
The motel was originally built in the early 1950s and was one of the first motel-type tourist accommodations to be built in Hot Springs National Park.
