Sparkling Surprise: 35-Point Gem Unearthed in Arkansas Diamond Field
The Arkansas Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas is the only place where visitors can hunt for real diamonds.
Discovering a Hidden Gem
A lucky Floridian, Denis Tyrrel visited the park on Tuesday only to walk away with a rare uniquely shaped 35-point diamond, making it the 487th diamond found at the park. The flat triangular-shaped white diamonds are the most sought-after because of their unusual formations, shape, and size. Unfortunately, we have no pictures to show since the story is relatively new this week.
Tyrell's discovery is significant for a diamond hunter who visits the popular park regularly. The diamond was registered as a 35-point diamond. Typically these diamonds can go up to 100 points per carat.
