The Texarkana Dragon Boat Race Festival will be a great way to celebrate the weekend and it benefits a great cause HandsOn Texarkana and is presented by CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.

Bringle Lake in Texarkana is the place to be this Saturday, June 11.

Come out and watch these big beautiful dragon boats race each other. There's more going on throughout the day too with the festival. There will be arts and crafts booths, food trucks and live music. The event will get started at 9 AM and the fun will run until 4 PM.

According to their website:
Each team will race at least three times, twice in the morning and once in the afternoon for divisional championships. Our top four fundraising teams will be included in a special race during our lunch break. Winner of this race will receive a special trophy, bragging rights and a FREE team registration in 2023!

Did you know that Dragon Boat Racing is over 2,000 years old?  These boats are long, at 46 feet in length, and they hold 20 rowers. The teams have a person that sits at one end of the boat with a drum to help the rowers stay in sync
