Hard to believe we have reached the middle of October and that means the holiday season is right around the corner and so is the CPKC Holiday Train not to be confused with the KCS Holiday Express.

Just Announced

The Canadian Pacific holiday train runs on the Kansas City rails just like its counterpart the KCS Holiday Express. This will mark the very first time in its history that the train is scheduled to make a stop through Texarkana, Texas, Shreveport, Louisiana, and Mena, Arkansas. Since 1999, the program has raised $22.5 million and collected five million pounds of food for community food banks along CP’s network in the U.S. and Canada.

The traveling holiday train usually stops for approximately 30 minutes on its journey and carries some notable musicians and artists onboard to help fill the air with a mini-concert performing music for its guests. Performing at the Texarkana visit will be musical guests Seaforth and Kiesza. Seaforth is a country music duo from Australia and Kiesza is a Canadian pop singer-songwriter she is also the face of top fashion brands Fendi and Maison Birks.

Other artists performing across the states will be Virginia to Vegas, Trudy, Anyway Gang, Tyler Shaw, Kiesza, Seaforth, Tenille Townes, Breland, MacKenzie Porter and Dallas Smith. This year’s Holiday Train tour will include 191 live music shows in six provinces and 14 states.

Texarkana Visit - November 29

The Holiday Train will arrive in Texarkana on West 4th Street east of Lelia Street at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29. The event will last until 4:45 p.m. with a departure at 5:15 p.m.

The 2023 Holiday Train tours Canada and the United States from November 20, through December 19, raising money for local food banks and bringing awareness to the importance of food banks and the hard work they do to help the community. The CPKC crew will be making a donation to the local food bank when they arrive at their scheduled stop.

Just like the KCS Holiday Express the CPKC Holiday train arrives decorated with a ton of brightly festive LED lights and holiday designs. This will mark the 25th Anniversary of the train so expect it to be a very special visit in Texarkana.

The festive six-car Holiday Express train will feature animated displays inside and out and will bring Santa Claus and his elves to visit children and families as it continues its tradition of giving to The Salvation Army, according to their press release.

I don't know about you but this holiday train reminds me so much of the train in the movie, "The Polar Express."
