Did you realize that only 1 out of every 5 child car seats is installed correctly? It's a scary thought when you think of your child's safety. Do you know if yours is secured and installed correctly? Is it the right size for your child? You can stop guessing and find out for sure this Saturday from 10AM to 2PM at the Texas High School parking lot.

Stop by and get your child's car seat checked out by a certified technician. According to the Texarkana, Texas Police Department's Facebook page:

No appointment is necessary, but you will need to bring the child using the seat with you so everything can be properly adjusted for them. You should also know the height and weight of the child.

Qualifying Texas residents can get a replacement seat if the one that you have now is substandard. You should bring proof of residency (such as a utility bill) and proof of government assistance (WIC or Medicare card).

Arkansas residents can stop by and get their car seats inspected and make sure they are installed correctly. If you need a replacement they will be able to tell you who to contact in Miller county for more information.

This service is available thanks to TxDOT and the Northeast Texas Safety Coalition.
