Finally I can justify the overuse of dry shampoo.

Let's be honest, showering can be a real pain in the rear. You have to get undressed, find the right water temperature, scrub all those hard to reach places, shave, dry off, wrap up your hair in a towel that never stays on your head. And, doing it every day just seems like a chore. We've heard rumors that showering too often can strip your body of its natural oils and dry you out. Well, it's time to set the record straight.

According to Time Magazine's recent poll, not everyone showers every day.

It seems 53% shower of us only five times a week, 25% said right at three or four times (this is where I fall), 15% said twice a week and 8% said they only shower once a week. That's a little too little for me. I feel like you would start to smell.

Columbia University would beg to differ.

An infectious disease expert Dr. Elaine Larson in the School of Nursing at the university said that you should shower if you stink, if you have worked out or done some other physical activity that has made you sweat, or if you're visibly dirty. She even said showering more than twice a week doesn't make you more hygienic than someone who doesn't. And yes, it could dry you out. And dry skin leaves you prone to skin infections.

Sounds to me like dry shampoo and baby powder is A-OK.
