I don't know about you but I find myself drinking more water these days. It's not because of rising soft drink prices, but rather the health benefits of drinking water. According to a new report from Beverage Digest more Americans are doing the same for the the first time in three decades. Soft drinks have been the choice of many Americans ever since the eighties, when big companies like Pepsi launched those massive celebrity endorsement ads. By 1998, Americans were drinking 54 gallons of soda per person a year, compared to just 42 gallons of water.

And now the study has concluded that Americans on average are drinking 58 gallons of water a year, compared to 44 gallons of soda.
