Was Texarkana’s Hailey Wright Wronged on ‘The Voice’?
If you live in the Texarkana area, then you most likely have been following our local girl Hailey Wright on TV show 'The Voice'. Unfortunately, last night we saw her journey on the show come to an end.
Looking at Facebook posts and talking with co-workers today, I know I am not alone in thinking that Hailey should not have been let go in last night's competition. What was Kelsea Ballerini thinking?
Last night was another knockout session, whittling the contestants down. On Kelsea's Team, it was Hailey Wright vs Jaelen Johnston. And although Jaelen did well with his song Dial Drunk, no one can deny how good Hailey's performance of I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart was.
Not only did Hailey look comfortable on stage singing the song, she sang it so well she totally knocked it out of the park! That song highlighted her vocal control and range as she effortlessly yodeled her way through the song.
So, I can't help but wonder...I thought this show was called The Voice, because Hailey's voice was a shining star last night and she should have won that round. Even the other coaches thought that Hailey won that round, which says a lot coming from Michael Buble, John Legend and Adam Levine.

Maybe Kelsea felt Hailey was too traditional? But if you listen to some of the country artists out today, they are returning to a more traditional sound. Case in point, Zach Top, and Ella Langley.
But the more I think about it, in the end, this will be good for Hailey, because now she can really get her career going. Remember, Morgan Wallen didn't win on The Voice either, and that didn't stop him! Go Hailey!!
